Tiskita Jungle Lodge
Pavones Hotel Guide
Tiskita Jungle Lodge is a Costa Rican owned and operated family business. It has been at the forefront of Costa Rican ecotourism, with more than 30 years in the business. Besides being an eco-lodge, Tiskita is also a private biological reserve that protects primary and secondary tropical rainforest. It is home to plenty of wildlife with over 275 species birds recorded and a myriad of other animals, including endangered endemic species like the Central American Squirrel Monkey and the Granular Poison-dart Frog.
Tiskita Jungle Lodge also has an organic orchard, where over 125 types of tropical fruit are accessible. Tiskita Jungle Lodge is the most environmentally conscientious business in Pavones, playing an integral role in the scarlet macaw reintroduction and sea turtle conservation projects, in addition to their private biological reserve. They have provided stable employment for the local community for over 30 years and play an important role in community development.
All facilities have been built with sustainably harvested tropical hardwoods. The main lodge is expansive with a dining room, library, bar, ping pong table and pool. The cabins are easily accessible to the main lodge but private. There are nine private cabins with 17 rooms in total. The cabins feature a screened-in room, a ceiling fan, orthopedic mattress(es), bathrooms with solar heated water, shaded decks, and lounging chairs and hammock(s).
Families are accommodated in the cabins with multiple rooms, so mom and dad can sleep separately, yet next door to the kids. Couples are accommodated in the single room cabins. Tiskita Jungle Lodge has a new yoga deck, offering two yoga classes a day to their guests at an additional cost. The facility is also available for yoga retreats.
