Is Costa Rica Title Insurance Available?

No. It Is Not.
 
No Costa Rica Title Insurance Company can offer a title insurance policy in Costa Rica – (2016).
 
What these Costa Rica Title Insurance Companies are saying is that they can offer escrow accounts and title searches, but not Costa Rican Title Insurance.
 
Mostly because Costa Rica has an opened insurance brokerage market which is heavily regulated, these laws makes it incredibly tough to get through with the licensing required by the Costa Rican Government to issue Costa Rican Title Insurance.
 
It also seems like the Costa Rican Government believes that if one has a full uncontested title in the Costa Rica National Registry, that is your title insurance….Anything else is redundant.
 
So the Title Companies working here in Costa Rica are sticking to title searches and escrow accounts for the time being. Who knows? We still could have Costa Rica title insurance in the future, it just isn’t happening right now in 2016.
